Grandparents J.D. (Blank) and Sara Edna Blankenship operated the gas station and small grocery store for better than 50 years. As the only grandchild I grew up in the store along with my little Boston Terrier Cindy..

After being a bookkeeper at Floydada Coop Gin for fifteen years I fulfilled my dream of renovating the old store and opening a gift shop. Several years later we built on to the back of the building and I opened a flower shop along with the gift shop.

We have strived to keeping the outside of the building to look as it did in the 1930's. After thirty years of operating the gift and flower shop I closed the gift and flower shop to begin a new adventure in the same location and retaining the same name.

I retained the back portion of the store and opened Karol's Kountry Korner specializing in homemade desserts and a custom gift wrap service. I rented out the front portion of the store to Quitaque Trading Post. They offer a large selection of antiques and collectibles!

At Karol's we offer made to order several flavors of 3 layer made from scratch cakes and cobblers made the old fashioned way. We always have pecan and butter chess pies baked and ready to go. We also have regular and mini bundt cakes along with cake balls in assorted flavors!

During the Christmas holiday season we make a delicious white fruit cake from my Moms seventy five year old recipe along with chocolate covered millionaires and peanut and pecan brittle. We also offer a gift wrap service. We custom wrap your packages for any occasion!
